Why Haven
exists.

Rocío, who makes Haven

Hi. I'm Rocío. I made Haven, on my own, from a flat in Stockholm.

Here is what I believe, and it is the reason this exists at all. Nobody taught us how to handle our own feelings. Not at school, mostly not at home. We are expected to arrive at adulthood already knowing how to steady ourselves, and then to feel like something is wrong with us when we cannot. It is not a character flaw. It is a subject that was never on the timetable.

The research that would help exists. It is just sitting in papers and books that almost nobody reads at eleven at night, which is exactly when you need it. Haven is my attempt to get a small piece of it to you at that hour, in a form that asks nothing of you.

How I decided to build it

I did not want to build something that needs you to be anxious to survive. Most apps that count your days are quietly hoping you will feel bad about breaking the run. That works. It is also the opposite of what a person reaching for calm at midnight actually needs.

So Haven counts the days you show up, but it only tells you afterwards, never to pull you back. Nothing catches fire. Nothing is lost. A day you miss is a day you missed. An app that makes you feel guilty at midnight is not helping you find peace.

The same thinking is why there is no library to scroll. You already made a hundred decisions today. Haven makes one meditation, for that day, in the voice and the length you chose once, and then gets out of the way.

And the daily one is free. Not free for a week, not free until you are hooked. Free. If the only thing Haven ever does for you is help you sleep on the bad nights, that is a good outcome and I do not need to charge you for it.

It's early, and you can shape it

Haven is new, and small, and I am the whole team. That means the rough edges are mine, and so is the email address. If a meditation lands wrong, if a voice grates, if something breaks at the worst moment, I would genuinely rather know.

Write to support@gethaven.io. It comes to me. I read all of it, and the app has changed more than once because someone took the time.

Haven is on iPhone. Today's meditation is free, as it will be tomorrow.
